Surrounded by Aravalli, Ajmer is one of the most popular cities in Rajasthan. It is renowned for Dargah Sharif, the final resting place of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti. He was born in 1130 in East Persia and became a disciple of a Chishti saint in his youth. He came to Ajmer in 1191 and settled here for a lifetime. It is venerated by both Hindus and Muslims as the tomb of Khwaja Muin-ud-din Chishti.
Another renowned town of Rajasthan is located in Ajmer district. It is also one of the most important pilgrim destinations for Hindus. It is popular for Brahma Temple, Pushkar Lake, and Pushkar Camel Fair. Pushkar is one of the oldest existing cities in India, as per legend the city was associated with Brahma with its creation.
