The magnificent Udaipur city is a famous with some unique names; 'the City of dawn', 'the Venice of India' and 'the City of Lakes', Udaipur is regarded as one of the most beautiful destinations in Rajasthan. It has been named as 'the Garden city' of Rajasthan. Ranakpur is known as ' The serene pilgrimage town'. It is also marked as one of the five holy destinations for the Jain community. Kumbhalgarh is the second most important citadel after Chittorgarh in the Mewar region. It is also of sentimental significance as it is the birthplace of Mewar's legendary King Maharana Pratap. Maharana Fateh Singh renovated the fort in the 19th century. The fort's large compound has very interesting ruins and the walk around it can be very rewarding. Itinerary Details

Welcome to your ' Historical Udaipur with Kumbhalgarh ' tour! On arrival at the airport/ railway station in Udaipur, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Visit City Palace, Crystal gallery & Saheliyon-ki-Bari (private). Later in the afternoon visit City Palace and Crystal gallery. Udaipur's City Palace is one of the architectural marvels of Rajasthan, located peacefully on the banks of Lake Pichola. The majestic City Palace has several gates that are known as "Pols". The 'Bara Pol' (Great Gate) is the main gate to its complex that will take you to the first courtyard. City Palace is a marvellous assortment of courtyards, pavilions, terraces, corridors, rooms and hanging gardens.
Further proceed to visit Saheliyon-ki-Bari meaning Courtyard of the Maidens, is a major garden and a popular tourist space in Udaipur in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It lies in the northern part of the city and has fountains and kiosks, a lotus pool and marble elephants. It was built by Rana Sangram Singh.

The rest of the day is at leisure. One can opt to visit Lok kala Mandal for the puppet show, Pichola Lake for boat ride and City Palace for The Sound and Light show.

  • Visit Eklinji Temple, Haldighati and Shrinathji temple (private).

After breakfast, proceed for a full sightseeing of Udaipur visiting Eklinji Temple, Haldighati and Shrinathji temple. Eklingji is a Hindu temple complex in Udaipur district of Rajasthan. It is a marvel structure carved in stone and one of the most famous temples of Rajasthan. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, Eklingji Temple was constructed by Bappa Rawal in 734 A.D. The Battle of Haldighati was fought in Haldighati, Rajasthan, on 18 or 21 June 1576 for around four hours between Rana of Mewar, Maharana Pratap and Mughal Emperor Akbar. Shrinathji temple in Nathdwara is dedicated to Lord Shrinathji (Lord Krishna). The term 'Nathdwara' suggests the 'gate of the lord'. Shrinathji Temple is also known as 'Haveli of Shrinathji' and makes a prominent pilgrim destination for the Hindus / Vaishnavas.

The evening is at leisure for independent activities. One can opt to enjoy the Sound and Light show at Kumbhalgarh Fort.

  • Transfer from hotel in Udaipur to hotel in Kumbhalgarh via Ranakpur, en route, visit to Ranakpur Jain Temple. (private).

After breakfast, proceed to Kumbhalgarh via Ranakpur.
The beautifully sculptured Jain temples mark the glory of Ranakpur. Every temple has a conceivable surface carved with equal delicacy. The ambience of Ranakpur is mainly highlighted by the location and the almost divine architecture, giving the same hue as its counterpart - the great Dilwara Temples in Mt-Abu. Overall Ranakpur is known as ' The tranquil pilgrimage town'.
Later drive to Kumbhalgarh. It is the second most important citadel after Chittorgarh in the Mewar region. Cradled in the Aravalli Range the fort was built in the 15th century by Rana Kumbha. Because of its inaccessibility and hostile topography the fort had remained un-conquered. It also served the rulers of Mewar as a refuge in times of strife. The fort also served as refuge to the baby king Udai of Mewar. It is also of sentimental significance as it is the birthplace of Mewar's legendary King Maharana Pratap.
The fort is self-contained and has within its amalgam almost everything to withstand a long siege. The fort fell only once, that was to the combined armies of Mughal and of Amber for scarcity of drinking water. There are many magnificent palaces and an array of temples built by the Mauryas, of which the most picturesque palace is the Badal Mahal or the palace of the clouds. The fort also offers a superb birds view of the surroundings. The fort's thick wall stretches some 36 kms and is wide enough to take eight horses abreast. Maharana Fateh Singh renovated the fort in the 19th century. The fort's large compound has very interesting ruins and the walk around it can be very rewarding.
