Destination: Mumbai – Sindhudurg – Goa – Vasco – Kolhapur – Aurangabad – Ajanta – Nashik – Mumbai

Based on the model of Palace on Wheels, ‘Deccan Odyssey’ is one of the premium luxury trains in India. It has been started to boost the tourism of Maharashtra. It is a joint venture of the Ministry of Railways and Maharashtra Government. It is 7 nights tour, which starts every Wednesday from Mumbai, covering the route of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Goa, Kolhapur, Belgavi, Solapur, Nanded, Aurangabad, Ajanta-Ellora Nashik, Pune and then back to Mumbai. During the tour, you will feel the amazing experience of the rich history, culture, and tradition of India along with the spirituality and majestic wildlife. During the tour you will feel a glimpse of true royalty with all the luxurious modern amenities, it is a fully five-star hotel on wheels, with two restaurants and a bar, a sauna, business center and other such amenities on board.

Itinerary Details

Welcome with royal tradition by garlanding, tikka, and welcome drinks. In the evening you will be boarding at Deccan Odyssey at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus. Have your favourite drinks and dinner on board.

Tourist Attractions: Boat Jetty from Malavan Pier, Tarkarli beach, Temples of Bhagwati and Sateri

Have your breakfast in the morning and arrive at Kudal Railway Station. Take your breakfast on board. Then we will go for a boating experience on a Jetty from Malavan Settle.  Inside the Boat Jetty from Malavan Pier arranged just for you, and enjoy the mesmerizing views of nature and waves caressing the mighty Sindhudurg, the sea fort. Then visit Tarkarli Beach which is known as Virgin Beach.  Enjoy the beach and then in the evening, visit the Cashew factory of Dhamapur and pay respect to the ancient lakeside temples of Bhagwati and Sateri Goddess. Dinner on board and then depart from the station for Goa.

Tourist Attractions: Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral, and the Church of St. Francis of Assisi

Arrive at Karmali Railway station, Goa. Have your breakfast and proceed to Goa sightseeing and visit the Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral, and the Church of St. Francis of Assisi. Then visit the old Portuguese-style houses. Have lunch on board the train. In the evening we will visit the beach hotel and enjoy Goan culture and traditional meals. Overnight Train halts at Vasco, Goa.

Tourist Attractions: Mangeshi Temple, Safa Masjid, Sahakari Spice Farm

Have your breakfast and proceed for Goa sightseeing and visit Mangeshi Temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva and explore the architecture of old temples. Then we will depart to Safa Masjid, an Islamic shrine in Ponda, famous for the Hindu pilgrimage tour in Goa. Then proceed towards the biggest and finest spice farm in the Country, “Sahakari Spice Farm” at Ponda village. This organic spice farm has a variety of herbal and medicinal trees. The guide explains different spices and their medical values during the tour. Take your lunch and after that, you can go for an elephant ride which will be at your personal expense. Then proceed to Madgaon Railway Station to board the train. Dinner will be served on board. Then depart for Kolhapur.

Tourist Attractions: New Palace, Bhawani Mandap, Mahalaxmi Temple, Shalini Palace

Have your breakfast and arrive at Kolhapur City. Then we will visit the New Palace, a royal palace which is now converted into a museum. Next visit Bhawani Mandap, and then we will visit the Mahalaxmi Temple, a temple of goddess Ambabai which is also famous for pilgrimage tours.  Then we will visit Shalini Palace. Have lunch in the afternoon. After that, you can go shopping. Dinner on board and depart for Daulatabad.

Tourist Attractions: Fort Daulatabad, Ellora Caves, Bibi-ka-Maqbara

Have your breakfast and arrive at Daulatabad. Then visit Fort Daulatabad. Then you will proceed to Aurangabad and visit the Ellora caves, a World Heritage site, having 34 cave temples dedicated to three different religions. Also, visit the Viharas or monasteries of Hindu and Jain temples. Take your lunch and then visit the Bibi-ka-Maqbara, a replica of the Taj Mahal is a grand piece of Mughal architecture. We can go shopping. Dinner is served on board and departs to Jalgaon Railway Station.

Tourist Attractions: Panchawari Ghat, Kala Ram Temple

Have your breakfast in the morning and arrive at Jalgaon Railway Station. After breakfast on board, we will visit the caves of Ajanta which is the World Heritage Site. It is famous for its finest paintings and sculptures. In the afternoon, we will proceed to Nashik. Have your lunch on board.  Then visit Panchawari Ghat which is famous for a holy place known for Kumbh Mela, then visit Kala Ram Temple. Then board the train at Deolali Railway Station. Then depart for Mumbai.

Have your breakfast in the morning and arrive at Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus Railway Station. Check out from the luxurious Deccan Odyssey Train and transfer to the airport to board a flight for an onward journey. We wish you a safe journey.
