A National Park, Tiger Reserve, and Biosphere Reserve in West Bengal, the Sundarbans National Park is one of the most popular wildlife sanctuaries in India. It is located on the Ganges Delta beside the Sundarban Reserve Forest in Bangladesh. Sundarban was declared a Sundarban Tiger Reserve in 1973 and in 1984, it was declared a National Park. It was also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1987. Surrounded by dense mangrove forests, it is one of the largest reserves and home to more than 400 Bengal tigers.
