The Palace on Wheels is amongst the top five luxury trains of the world. This Luxury train is a combine effort of Indian Railways and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation. The concept of Palace on Wheels was originally meant for the former Rulers of Rajasthan, Gujarat, Hyderabad and the Viceroy of British India. Since Independence the train coaches were not in use due to its luxury and lavish interiors which was very expensive and could not be used on the normal passenger train routes. The concept was revived in the year 1982 when this train was official launched to promote Indian Tourism Industry. Palace on Wheels is a luxury train ride with 5 Star amenities to the land of prominent Maharajas with prosperous Royalty, Colorful culture and a strong history which is Rajasthan. The 8 days journey with a Royal treatment takes you to the famous cities of Northern India such as Delhi, Jaipur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur, Agra.

On your arrival at New Delhi Airport, our representative will traditionally welcome (Swagat) you and assist you in check-in to your pre booked hotel. Relax for a day after a long flight and prepare for the further trip. Here you have successfully completed your first day of Palace on Wheels Tour.

Tour Highlights: Redfort, Jama Masjid, Raj Ghat (Mahatma Gandhi Museum), Humayun Tomb, Lotus Temple and Qutub Minar

After Breakfast check-out and proceed for Delhi sightseeing tour along with our Tour Guide. Today highlights will be Redfort, Jama Masjid, Humayun Tomb, Lotus Temple and Qutub Minar. Your tour will start from the Old Delhi and will end at New Delhi. Delhi has two different faces the “old” and the “new” and each of her face will give you a complete different experience. New Delhi offers you Modern Architecture, Luxury Hotels, classy cafés, bars and business centers. On the other side, the face of Old Delhi offers you splendid history of Delhi which served as the capital of Islamic India. In the afternoon, enjoy your lunch at a nice restaurant. At the end of the tour you will be transferred to the boarding station of The Palace on Wheels for your onward journey. Upon your arrival at the boarding station, you will be welcomed in Indian Traditions by the crew members of The Palace on Wheels and will be personally assisted in check-in to your cabin. The departure time of the train will be 1830 Hrs. from Delhi. Dinner will be served on board. Here you have successfully completed your second day of Palace on Wheels Tour.

Tour Highlights: Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jantar Mantar, City Palace

After breakfast on board, a Royal Welcome by Elephants & proceed for Jaipur Sightseeing tour which is also known as Pink City. Today tour highlights will be Hawa Mahal, Amber Fort, Jantar Mantar and City Palace. Hawa Mahal is also called as "Palace of Winds". Hawa Mahal is a high screen wall which was built for the convenience of women of royal household so that they could observe street activities while unseen from outside. Later visit to Amber Fort which is amongst the prime tourist attractions in Jaipur, located high on a hill. Amber Fort is known for its artistic style, blending both Hindu and Rajput elements. In the afternoon, enjoy your lunch in 1135 AD Boutique Restaurant, located inside the Fort. After Lunch, visit at the beautiful 16th century well preserved City Palace, with huge courtyards and built with a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture. After sightseeing visit the local shops for famous Rajasthan handicraft and carpets. At the end of the tour, return to The Palace on Wheels for onward journey to Sawai Madhopur (Ranthambore). Dinner will be served on board. Here you have successfully completed your third day of Palace on Wheels Tour.

Tour Highlights: Ranthambore, Chittorgarh Fort

Early morning arrival at Sawai Madhopur Railway Station and proceed for Jungle Safari to the Ranthambore National Park which is famous for the Tigers. It is also known as one of the best National Parks/Tiger Reserves in India. Around 0930 Hrs back to the train for breakfast and lunch on board. Around 1600 Hrs, train will reach at Chittorgarh Railway station. On arrival at Chittorgarh, proceed for an excursion tour to Chittorgarh Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site) followed by a cultural sound and light program. Chittorgarh is arguably considered to be the largest fort of India. Later return to the train for your onward Journey to Udaipur.  Dinner will be served on board. Here you have successfully completed your fourth day of Palace on Wheels Tour.

Tour Highlights: City Palace, Crystal Gallery, Lake Pichola, Lake Palace Hotel, Saheliyon Ki Bari

Your Train arrives at Udaipur Station at 0800 Hrs. After breakfast on board, proceed for Udaipur sightseeing tour. Udaipur is also called as City of Lakes. Tour Highlights will be The City Palace (One of the largest Palace Complex in India), Crystal Gallery (Personal Collections of H.H. Maharana of Udaipur) followed by a boat ride on Lake Pichola around Lake Palace Hotel. In the afternoon enjoy your Lunch at Fateh Prakash Palace Hotel. After Lunch time is free for shopping followed by visit to Royal Gardens at Saheliyon Ki Bari. Later return to the train for onward journey to Jaisalmer. Here you have successfully completed your fifth day of Palace on Wheels Tour.

Tour Highlights: Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon ki Haveli, Jain Temples, Sam Sand Dunes in Thar Desert

Your train arrives at Jaisalmer at 0915 Hrs. After breakfast on board, proceed for Jaisalmer Tour and the highlights will be Jaisalmer Fort, Patwon ki Haveli, Jain Temples and Sam Sand Dunes in Thar Desert. Jaisalmer Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site) would surely remind you of an Arabian night Tale. Jaisalmer Fort Complex is located approx 100 meters above the Jaisalmer city and turns into Golden color in the afternoon. An array of massive gates at the entrance beautifully adorned the Fort. After Jaisalmer Fort visit the Patwon ki Haveli, a beautifully carved and elaborate mansion of Jaisalmer. Later visit to the Jain Temples which depicts the manuscript of ancient India and are beautifully carved. In the afternoon, enjoy your lunch at a 5 Star Hotel and return to the train for a short break. In the evening proceed for an excursion tour to Sam Sand Dunes in the Thar Desert and enjoy the Camel Ride followed by Sunset photo shooting. Late evening, proceed to a 5 Start hotel for a cultural program followed by a Dinner. At the end of the day, return to the train for your onward journey to Jodhpur. Tour Highlights: Mehrangarh Fort, Jaswant Thada, Umaid Bhawan Palace

Your train arrives at Jodhpur Station at 0800 Hrs. After breakfast on board, proceed for Jodhpur sightseeing tour.  Jodhpur is also called as Blue City and is situated on the edge of Thar Desert and a former capital of Mewar Kingdom which houses many palaces and Forts. Tour Highlights will be Mehrangarh Fort (biggest Hill Forts in India), Royal cenotaphs of Jaswant Thada and Umaid Bhawan Palace. Visit to the 16th Century Mehrangarh Fort located on a rocky hilltop. Entrance to the Fort is through an array of gateways set at an angle which clearly depicts the intention for not letting an enemy to come easily inside the Fort.  A wide collection of Royal dresses and medieval weapons have been carefully preserved by the authorities. Later visit to the Jaswant Thada, a 19th Century group of royal cenotaphs made up of white marble. After Jaswant Thada, visit the Umaid Bhawan Museum to see a collection of personal artwork of H.H. Maharaja of Jodhpur. In the afternoon, enjoy your lunch at Hanwant Mahal Boutique Restaurant and return to the train for onward journey to Bharatpur. Tour Highlights: Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort

Your train arrives at Bharatpur station at 0500 Hrs. Early morning visit to the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary (UNESCO World Heritage Site). It is also known as Keoladeo National Park or Ghana Bird Sanctuary and is an important international biosphere known for its large and varied avifauna, both local and migratory. It is a blessing for the avian world, and the pilgrimage for the bird lovers. Bharatpur Sanctuary was known as the best duck shooting park in the British Empire, but in the year 1956 it was declared as a reserve for birds and later upgraded to National Park. Around 0800 Hrs, return to the train for onward journey to Agra.  Breakfast will be served on board. Around 1000 Hrs your train will arrive at Agra Station. On your arrival at Agra, proceed for Agra sightseeing tour to see the famous attractions such as Agra Fort and Taj Mahal. Visit the famous Agra Fort which was built by Emperor Akbar is believed that Shah Jahan was imprisoned and died here. In the afternoon, enjoy your Lunch at ITC Mughal Hotel (A 5 Star hotel from ITC Group).  After Lunch visit the Taj Mahal, the most beautiful monument in the world, built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. It is considered to be a symbol of enduring love and is the only monument which has touched the hearts of many people from all corners of the world. Evening will be free for shopping activities and later return to the train for onward journey to Delhi. Your train arrives at Safdurjung Railway Station (New Delhi) at around 0530 Hrs. After Breakfast, check-out and de-board “The Palace on Wheels”. On your arrival in Delhi you will be picked-up by Incredible India Representative and will be taken to your pre-booked hotel. Check-in to your room and relax. You may choose to explore the surrounding places on your own. Here you have successfully completed your ninth day of Palace on Wheels Tour.
